Logo Design and Branding: Jason Hall Real Estate

Happy to finally see this project cross the finish line!

As I transitioned to doing more self-directed work, I hit the pause button on on commission work and graphic design projects. Branding and logo design is something I love to do, but to land on a logo and branding elements takes a lot of time.

I’ve incorporated several strategies to speed up my delivery, but sometimes, even those tactics don’t help me and my client get to an acceptable design quickly.

Working with Jason Hall

I met Jason Hall one evening at Red Bus Brewing Company. He was meeting with colleagues and we had some mutual friends at the table. We got to talking and I was really glad that I had the opportunity to meet him. Fast forward, I see Jason showing a house in my neighborhood a couple weeks later from my upstairs office window. I made it a point to catch him on his way to his car. I think it took him a second to figure out how he knew me, but he put the pieces together quickly.

I’d see Jason from time to time, and one day he reached out and asked if I might be able to help him with a logo. As I mentioned, I was busy with a lot of other projects and really didn’t see how I could find the time. But, Jason’s VW bus (which would be a key element in the design) was in the shop and it looked like I’d have some time and I wouldn’t be under a ton of pressure to get the logo done quickly.

Well, the logo was crafted in a series of starts and stops and I felt like I was making slow but steady progress. Once the bus was restored and out of the shop, we (when I say “we”, I mean “me) needed to pick up the pace. I presented the final round of concepts to Jason and I had a chance to see the bus in real-life for the first time a little over a month ago. That was enough to light the fire and get the logo/s finished.

I am incredibly happy with the outcome and I think this brand style is a good match for Jason and his business. Jason is a really good guy and that is just one more reason why I was compelled to do this project. Furthermore, I’ve also become an expert at drawing VW buses despite the fact that I’ve never actually driven one.
